Beginner-friendly! All classes are held at Trade Oak Cliff, 1300 S Polk St. #234 (Enter 4 doors down from Oak Cliff Brewery). 

The perfect fit for people wanting to learn about pottery as a hobby. We will make multiple pieces throughout the series as you get you familiar with tools, studio routines, steps for throwing on the pottery wheel, glazing and more. Trimmed/Short nails are recommended for easier throwing, but not required. Below is a general itinerary for first time students: 

1st Night: Tuesday, November 3rd - Intro to the pottery wheel, centering & throwing.

2nd Night: Tuesday, November 10th - More centering practice & throwing.

3rd Night: Tuesday, November 17th - Modifying pieces: attaching handles or other cutouts, carving, learning to trim.

4th Night: Tuesday, November 24th - Students can choose to continue to throw and make more pieces, or focus on editing the pieces they’ve made in previous weeks.

5th Night: Tuesday, December 1st - Students learn the ins and outs of underglaze and glaze.

6th Night: Tuesday, December 8th - Students finish glazing all remaining pieces. Studio will fire all work and reach out to the person who registered for the series in about 2 weeks when the pieces are ready.
